The Blessing and Power of Community
I am grateful that in the midst of people showing up, joining together in fellowship, prayer and opening up His Word - that God revealed Himself and they responded by overflowing the difference He has made in their lives by being the hands and feet of Christ to me and so many others!
It is in the gathering of community that God can powerfully use the community with Christ and our groups to heal us from bad community, to care and love us back to health, to grow us in wisdom from His Word for our future steps and to pray, cheer and celebrate with us!
Are you now or have you ever been wounded by someone within the community of your church, work, school, family, or friends?
Are you now or have you been sick spiritually or physically?
Are you now or have you ever needed wisdom or encouragement?
Look around and see if there is someone in your life that could use the gift of honest, genuine, & loving community.
God works in the midst of community.
It is not about us and what community can do for us but about Him and because of Him that community has the power to overflow and impact many lives.
Are you connected to a community?
Community Needs Us and We Need Community!
Let us not hesitate to gather around Christ and gather around in community with each other and make a difference in someones life for His Glory!
If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
Philippians 2:1-4 The Message Bible
“As you live in close contact with me, the light of my presence filters through you to bless others. Your weakness and woundedness are the openings through which the Light of the knowledge of my Glory shines forth. My strength and power show themselves most effective in your weakness.” ~ Jesus Calling Book
Recently I wrote a devotional for my church on the topic of community. http://www.communitybible.com/2013/11/daily-devotion-november-8/
