Jewel Of Inspiration


The Blessing and Power of Community

I am grateful that in the midst of people showing up, joining together in fellowship, prayer and opening up His Word - that God revealed Himself and they responded by overflowing the difference He has made in their lives by being the hands and feet of Christ to me and so many others! 

It is in the gathering of community that God can powerfully use the community with Christ and our groups to heal us from bad community, to care and love us back to health, to grow us in wisdom from His Word for our future steps and to pray, cheer and celebrate with us!

Are you now or have you ever been wounded by someone within the community of your church, work, school, family, or friends?

Are you now or have you been sick spiritually or physically?

Are you now or have you ever needed wisdom or encouragement?

Look around and see if there is someone in your life that could use the gift of honest, genuine, & loving community.

God works in the midst of community. 
It is not about us and what community can do for us but about Him and because of Him that community has the power to overflow and impact many lives. 
Are you connected to a community?
Community Needs Us and We Need Community!
Let us not hesitate to gather around Christ and gather around in community with each other and make a difference in someones life for His Glory! 

If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.

Jewel Of Inspiration

BOO To The Lies!

For all the days, weeks, months and years that we have believed and entertained the lies that have led us to compare ourselves to others and think negatively about ourselves and others...I Say BOO!!

For all who struggle over and over again with these exhausting & time wasting and destructive thoughts...I Say BOO!!

BOO to the lies that linger in our heads and hearts!!
BOO to the lies that others have spoken to us or about us!
BOO to the lies that blare at us that we are not pretty enough, skinny enough, tall enough, fit enough, funny enough, smart enough, rich enough!
BOO to the lies that persuade us to thinking that we are a failure as a daughter, mom,  sister, aunt, friend, employee or believer!
BOO to the thoughts that tempt us to sin and cause us fear and shame!
BOO to the thoughts that cause us to doubt that things will ever be different or get better.

All these lies were not ours to receive!
It is time to take them to the trash can and get rid of them!

Many of us have words that were directly spoken to us or about us so very long ago and they are still affecting us to this day.  Memories and lies from words that wounded us, actions others did to us or from choices that we have made ourselves.  They haunt us.  It is time to scare them and bag them up and remove them from our lives!

One wave of a lie can ripple out to many lies and then washes over to hurt many others.
One person can a believe a lie and share it - not knowing the pain & destruction it could bring.
One ugly thought & lie can creatively try to delay or destroy the future steps of a beautiful life.

I know what it feels like to be bullied by the lies.
I understand the battle that goes on within your thoughts.
I have been there and have gratefully experienced freedom from a lot of those lingering lies and pray that for you as well.  It can sometimes be process so do not give up, do not let doubt creep in or fear rise up!

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!
2 Timothy 1:7

It is my prayer that our eyes would be open to recognize the lies that glare at us - when we look in the mirror - telling us that image is everything and you have scars and flaws.
May we realize there is only one mirror that matters and it is the Word of God.
Take a glance at it, Renew Your Mind with it and see a different reflection.  

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.  Romans 12:1-2

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror  and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  James 1:19-24

Know The Truth - that His Image and Word Are Everything and that is what
we should remember and reflect.
We are image bearers of God.  
"Let us make man in our image"  Genesis 1:26 NASB

Oh and those lies that have slid off our own lips.  Whether or not we meant to say them out of anger, pride, flattery, or for acceptance  - they were all spoken as damaging lies and not encouraging truth.
I pray for forgiveness, healing, wisdom, strength and control to be about us and
truth to become our delight.

Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.  
Colossians 3:9-10

And finally - may we stop cooperating with the lies and thinking on them so much and instead
think on these things...

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.  Philippians 4:8-9 NIV

Jewel Of Inspiration: Make A Difference



On Thursday I had a full day of back to back meetings.
As the day went on I became overwhelmed with so much gratitude and for the opportunity I have to join together with other organizations and individuals in serving, helping, loving, equipping and mentoring people in our city, church and school! 

As I learned some beautiful things and heard some difficult stories my heart softened and ached. I was reminded that there are needs all around us and any amount of help and care can really make a difference! It doesn't matter your bank account, or your abilities or time...what matters is you care and you do something. Something is better than ignoring and doing nothing.

Philippians 2:4 - Look out for Others Interests
Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Galatians 6:2 - Help with others Burdens
Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.

1 John 3:17- Love like God
But whoever has the world's goods, and beholds his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? 

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, "Here, am I. Send me!" Isaiah 6:8


We must remember that God loves me, and I have an opportunity to love others as he loves me, not in big things, but in small things with great love! ~ Mother Teresa

Jewel Of Inspiration: Choose Not To Fear



Since I was young I struggled with many fears.

The fear of rejection, darkness, failure, disappointing others, pain, speaking, heights, being lost, storms, driving, accidents, dying, etc...
All of these and more distracted me and delayed me and brought along with it other buddies that added to the fearful captivity.

Through faith in God - the Father, Son & Holy Spirit have turned my fears into cheers! Thank You, Lord!!  Through the Word of God (The Bible) He provides strength and wisdom to alert me of crippling fears and false words that only want to
destroy 
me and destroy the purpose and plan of God in my life.

On the most difficult of days in seasons of sickness and wellness I have to remember what He has provided in the past and pray
and invite Him to be in the midst of today's difficulties. 

Often I seek Him for strength to make the choice to not allow fear to take me away to a place that I need not linger - but instead grab hold of wisdom & courage to trust my Lord to help me face and overcome my fears!

When you have experienced the reduction and removal of fear time and time again - you cannot help but remember how freeing it is and you ache for it once again.
I desire for others to experience this type of freedom!

Today, I pray, if any of this resonates with you,
that you will experience freedom 
from the area of fears
that are trying to entertain you.
Prayers for you to overcome fears that have held you way to
 long 
and for other fears that may try to rise up in the days ahead.


Read and remember these scriptures and cover them over your life 
and situation or over a loved one.



For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17



Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

I would add to that quote to include Jesus in it and 
He will help you face it and overcome it!

He has helped me overcome - over and over again!
Through Him I have overcome fear of driving. 
Through Him I have overcome fear of my failures.
Through Him I have overcome fear of speaking.
Through Him I have overcome fear of darkness.
Through Him I have overcome
the fears that accompany a cancer diagnosis.
I love to testify of these things
and to give hope to someone who is in their own prison of fear.
The Word of God is alive and active
and is what I cover my mind and life with.
The renewing of my fearful mind with the
promises of the Word of God will break and destroy the root
of the fear and the lingering affects of it.
Because of all the Mighty and Great
healing's He has done in my life - 
I proclaim & praise Him
for Transforming and Inspiring My Looks - thus my ministry name!
He truly has Changed My Countenance, Heart, Hope and Health!!

Though darkness fills the night it cannot hide the Light.
Whom and what shall we fear?

Jewel Of Inspiration ~ What If We Loved Instead Of Hate?




What if today we lived & shared love instead of hate?


Lets do all we can to advance His Love and His Kingdom
in our hearts, homes, communities and the world!


Pray for your households, your Pastors, the Pastors & Body of Christ in your community and the world! 
Pray for salvation!
Pray for Love to abound and healing to come!Pray for and receive forgiveness.

Open up, O Heavens and pour out your righteousness.
Let the earth open wide so salvation and righteousness can sprout up together (in our homes, church, community and all over the world!).

Jewel Of Inspiration: Time For A Change!



Is there something stirring in you?
Do you sense a change coming on?
Change is not a bad thing so do not resist it - in fact pray for it!

Lately, I have been feeling that change was coming. I have felt it before many times and recognize it in my spirit. I am learning not to ignore it but to seek God and pray.


As I sense this current change coming on I have been specifically praying for God to change me, guide me, strengthen me, and inspire me so I can inspire others with what I learn!  I am also praying this over each one of my family members! 

I pray that we are alert and aware to respond with willingness and obedience to those things He wants to strengthen, move, remove or include in our lives.

Here are some of the things I am praying:

Change My Interests
Change My Discussions
Change My Visions
Change My Imaginations
Change My Thoughts
Change My Dreams
Change My Preferences
Change My Cravings
Change My Desires

CHANGE ME - INSPIRE ME, LORD!

So that every area of my mind, heart and actions would reflect and represent You more and Your purpose and plan for my life and my family members lives!  That our own purpose and sometimes floppy & fleshly desires would become less & less and Your power & purpose would become more & more!

I set out a challenge to you to pray this for yourself and for your family.

I dare you to surrender to Him & His desires of service for your life.   WARNING - Be prepared to make some changes as He teaches, guides and prepares you for your future steps.  He wants to use you in your home, your work place, your school, your church, your community, and out in the world.
In order to do that He often moves, adds, removes or takes away people and things in our lives.
It is all for Good and for His Glory!!

How will you know how to accomplish what He is calling you to until you surrender and seek Him and make a choice to trust and allow Him to show you the way you should go...even if it doesn't make sense or look like you thought your life would be like.  Hang in there and get in His Word, the Bible, and watch it unfold!

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Jewel Of Inspiration: Wisdom Is Valuable




When God calls you to do something and gives you an assignment - trust Him to give you the wisdom, guidance & provisions to accomplish it. Seek & Grow in Wisdom and never stop learning! This will help you in reducing fear and doubt and not giving it a place to rise up and reside! 

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV


I will be the first to admit - I am not confident in my own knowledge. I struggled (ahem - sometimes still struggle) and never excelled in the worlds education arena. Gratefully, I can be a student in God's Word and grow in His wisdom without any rankings or requirements and His curriculum never changes!


I've come to learn I must acknowledge & seek Him and depend on Him daily to teach me, help me remember, lead me and control my desires and days - or else I will certainly fail - and so very often I do.
If I rely on myself & my surroundings - I delay & hesitate to do what He has called me to do.  If I truly rely on Him then I respond much quicker & go without hesitation!  There is so much on this topic I could write and share with you!  It is my desire to live a life without hesitation and take Him at His Word quicker and to help others grow in that as well! 


Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

I pray that His intelligence would grow in our hearts and minds and be our guide as we trust Him to accomplish His purpose with the dreams, desires and assignments He has given us!

This is what I know about being BRAVE...

I Am Not.

But He Is.

And He is with me and goes with me.

When I am faced with my own failures.
He is with me.

When I am faced with challenges of being a mom.
He is with me.

When I am faced with wounds from others.
He is with me.

When I am faced with loss.
He is with me.

When I am struggling to understand.
He is with me.

When I am faced with a diagnosis of cancer.
He is with me.

When all of this and more make me tremble and feel like I am frightfully stranded at the top of the broken Ferris Wheel - I open the Word or put on some Worship music and I am reminded.

He is hope.
He is strength.
He is peace.
He is wisdom.
He is healing.
He is courage.

And He is the source that is powerfully cheering & unbelievably providing these things so we can face and get through it all...somehow - someway.  

His Way.


Remembering His Word and His provisions from the
 past - helps me to be able to face what comes to my doorstep in the future.

Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid...
for it is the Lord your God who goes with you.
He will not leave you or forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6

Jewel of Inspiration: The Joy Of The Lord Is Our Strength!


Sometimes we experience moments, days, or seasons that try to sap & drain our joy & strength.  I declare these words and scriptures over my life and yours today!

If our faith gets beat up & worn we gradually begin to lose our vibrant joy
and then before long our strength weakens and our hope begins to fade.
Many times it happens so quickly & subtly in a variety of ways 
that we don't even notice it. until somebody recognizes it.

To help get out of a funk I encourage myself and others to get your praise on!
Crank up some of your favorite music -spend time reading a strengthening 
word from the Bible and be aware of your many blessings and magnify 
that instead of allowing whatever situation
 or whoever'scomments to drain & rob you!

Music and specifically Praise Music always lift my spirits and change my attitude 
and focus and it has the power to change the atmosphere around me!
Renewing your heart and mind by magnifying the good in your life
 and singing with grateful joy is so healing!

When we struggle or suffer let us help, remind & encourage one another to drop what chains us and in celebration & gratitude share our testimony and remembrance 
of how the Lord was our source, our support and our strength to overcome!! 

In the midst of praise & testimony He has the power to lift burdens, give strength
 and instruction to press through the hard days! 
Praise Him alone or join together and sing for the joy of 
what He has done and is yet to do!

Here are mighty scriptures to proclaim over you life.

A psalm. For giving grateful praise. Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. 
Psalm 100:1

Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob!
He says, "I removed the burden from their shoulders;
 their hands were set free from the basket. 
Psalm 81:1, 6

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. 
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him!
Psalm 28:7

Nehemiah said, "Go, and enjoy good food and sweet drinks.  Send some to people 
who have none, because today is a holy day to the Lord. 
Don't be sad, because the joy of the Lord is your strength! Then all the people went away to eat and drink, to send some of their food to others, and to celebrate with great joy.  They finally understood what they had been taught.
